the Anti-Haul

Last week I posted a “mini-haul” if you could even call it that, I only really bought one thing, but for comparison, I thought it would be fun to make today’s post an anti-haul. So this post will be dedicated to a handful of products that I definitely (or at least most likely) will not be buying for a change.

1. Kylie Cosmetics (just about anything)

KlylghtersI have some of the lip kits and I love them. They are just about the only thing that I will be buying from Kylie Cosmetics at this point though. Over the last couple of months, I have heard about smelly eyeshadow palettes, empty highlighters, cheap packaging and just a general overload of new products.Klylie Blushes
The blushes and Kylighters just seemed overpriced and seriously underwhelming, and now the Velvet Lip Kits… I’ve tried the Colourpop Liquid Suede lipsticks and didn’t really love them, and since they’re most likely the exact same thing… I’ll pass.

2. the Two Faced Sweet Peach Collection

Maybe I’m a bit late on this one. I wasn’t feeling any of the collection when it first came out, and I’m still not. I mean, the colours are beautiful, but I’m Peach Blushjust not the biggest Two Faced fan. Plus, I just don’t know how I feel about the extra (unnecessary) fragrance. To be fair, I’m also not a fan of the Chocolate line for the same reasons.

3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette

ABH-LIP.pngBasically, I just don’t really see the point of this if you’re the average consumer. It’s really cool to mix your own shades, but I probably wouldn’t get a ton of use out of it. It’s great for a makeup artist or for someone that is creating a lot of unique looks, but if I make a really cool shade and put it on in the morning, how am I supposed to touch it up after lunch? Having to bring an entire palette to blend my custom shade for touchups just seems a little too much work.

4. Ofra x NikkieTutorials

OfraxNikkieI just can’t get behind this one. While the highlighter is beautiful, in Nikkie’s video where she was introducing it, she says “one shade for the fair makeup junkies, another for everyone that’s right in between, and a beautiful warm rich bronze for all the dark skinned divas”. Which is great, but I don’t have three skin tones. I’m actually pretty pale and there’s no way I will be able to make either of the darker shades work for me. I would have preferred to be able to choose a highlighter to suit my skin tone.
Also, for a kit that costs as much as this one, I don’t really love hearing how one of the lip shades really needs a bit of work to make it look good. Maybe that’s me being picky, but liquid lipsticks already need precision, why make it even more work?

There are quite a few more things that I won’t be buying, but I feel as though these are the most hyped-up products right now. And consider how much money I’m saving! I may do this for some Asian beauty products as well if there is interest! What are you not going to buy? Let me kow in the comments or tag me on social media!

Kisses,
Kriss
